Al-Anon Family Group.
My name is ................and I will be your chair today. Please join me in the serenity prayer.
The format of this meeting is the reading of our four daily Al-Anon readers—— One Day at a Time, Courage to Change, Hope for Today and A Little Time for Myself——followed by sharing. The meeting lasts 30 minutes.
If you’d like to read one of our readers and share, please raise your virtual hand now. If you have read or shared in the past week, please consider not sharing this week to invite other members to participate in the meeting. After you have read, you will have 1 minute to share. Who would like to read & share?”

“I’d like to thank our readers today (reads names of four readers).
If you are new to Al-Anon, this group meets for 15 minutes after the meeting, we encourage and welcome newcomers to join us to ask any questions you might have.
Our group practices the seventh tradition of Al-Anon, which suggests we are self-supporting through our own contributions. If you’d like to contribute, please see info in the chat.
We will now open the meeting for sharing. In Al-Anon, we speak from our own experience and ours is derived from living with the effects of alcoholism. We ask those who are members of other anonymous organizations not to break their anonymity and try to identify with the Al-Anon approach for the family illness.
When you share, please refrain from crosstalk, which is generally defined as commenting on others’ shares. In keeping with our tradition of anonymity, who you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here.
Everyone has two minutes to share, and the timer will let you know when to wrap up. Now, who would like to share?”
CALL ON participants in the order hands are raised.
If Chair is choosing to UNMUTE participants – continue UNMUTING and MUTING as outlined above for readers.
If Tech Host is UNMUTING and MUTING - Call on participants and allow time for TECH HOST to UNMUTE
At 8:29 AM PST
“That’s all the time we have today for sharing.
If you’d like to reach another member, or find a sponsor, please find information about our phone and sponsor lists in the chat.
I’d like to thank all the people who do service for our group. This group meets seven days a week at the same time.
Please join me in a moment of silence to use how you wish, followed by the serenity prayer.” Tech Host will Ask all to unmute and allow Participants to Unmute
-After Serenity Prayer
Tech Host will MUTE all and reset meeting security settings
Chair must UNMUTE Self
After-Meeting - Plan to stay around 15 minutes for fellowship or to answer newcomers’ questions.
If Chair cannot stay, they are to assign a new Chair to follow the after-meeting script/guidelines. There is no obligation for after-meeting Chair to stay beyond 15 minutes. If after-meeting Chair wants to remain past 8:45AM PST that is up to them individually. Chat can remain open. Chat host is not required to remain for after-meeting fellowship.
Continue with Script
“We will now continue with sharing. Our meeting room will remain open for 15 minutes and shares will continue to be timed for 2 minutes. [Check if timer is
able to stay, if not “Can I have a volunteer to time?”]
(If timer is not able to stay Tech Host to assign new timer as co-host)
Are there any newcomers who would like to share or ask any questions? “
(If there are no newcomers, or after newcomers share, continue calling on and unmuting members with raised hands).
